CAROLS BY TWILIGHT
This Thursday 9th December at school. Bring along a picnic dinner/fish and chips and please wear some Christmas attire (optional of course!) to the area by the big tree from 5pm onwards.
The Junior Team will sing some Christmas carols at 5.40pm in the new lunch area by the Junior playground. So, come along to join in with the festivities!
We look forward to seeing you all there.
READING PROGRAMME
This is the last week of our reading programme. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Sharmaine Dale who has put the mountains of books away each week. I really appreciate the time you have given to do this. Thanks.
Please return all reading books that are lying around at home – the sooner the better.
CAKE STALL FUNDRAISING
Thank you all so much for your wonderful support with the junior cake stall on Friday. We managed to raise $413.00! This money will go towards a new sunshade for the playhouse area.
I was amazed at how much baking appeared from Room 4, when you had had very little notice. Thanks so much for supporting the children’s learning again.
CRAFT
If anyone would like to help the children with some craft projects, please come along on Thursday from 1.30 – 2.30 (then stay on for the library opening). We will also be busy at various times next week, see me if you’d like to help. Thanks.
CLASS PICNIC
Just a reminder about the get-together for Room 4 families this Sunday (12th) at the playground in the Botanic gardens. From 10.30 – 1.30.
CLASS LUNCH
On Thursday 16th at 12.15, we will be having a class shared lunch, as a fun end to the year. Please send along a small plate of food to share (something healthy would be fine!). The children will then be getting on the bus to go to the cathedral (see below). Please feel free to join us for the feast at 12.15 in Room 4.
CATHEDRAL SINGING
This is on Thursday 16th December at 1.45pm. We will leave school by 1.30pm. Louise Dennis will be travelling with Room 4 as it’s also Sophie’s leaving assembly at this time. I do need another parent or two to help on the bus (think: no parking hassles!) or feel free to meet the class there to hear them sing. The children have been asked to bring along a small unwrapped gift to place under the tree, which will be given to a child less fortunate.
PLASTIC BAGS
Over the next week, I will be clearing the walls, there will be a lot of “stuff” coming home. Please send a few plastic bags to school so that we can fill them up! Thanks.
